Beverly Hills According to Pinky

We are suspended in a reality here that is isolated from the rest of the universe. I am amazed at the fact that for such a small city, Beverly Hills really has the best of the best. And now Fall is here and I am loving every second of it. I feel the energy has changed in the city, and I am now seeing people sitting and relaxing at my restaurant, Villa Blanca, over a glass of rosé and trying to emulate those lazy days on a street cafe in Europe. I really believe when the weather finally kicks in (it was a long time coming this year!), it is another reason why Beverly Hills is one of the greatest cities in the world. Also, as an English girl from London it still is a luxury for me. Anyway, I have a couple of little gems I would like to share with you.

Heavenly Handbags
I was trotting around Beverly Hills the other day doing what I do best – shopping – when I stumbled upon Perrin Paris. It’s a unique little shop on Beverly Drive. Oh, this is just a little haven of beautiful handmade handbags, and they had all sorts of fabulous leather goods. There were so many things to choose from, but I fell immediately in love with this divine white and silver purse that would be my perfect companion for the Fall. I knew to leave without one was an impossible task and one surely my husband would not expect me to accomplish. The absolute plus for me is that they are individual, and this shop is really reasonably priced where you don’t have to sell your firstborn. I have considered it in Hermes before. Anyway, moving on now…

Facial Flair
I was recently introduced to Jessica Fisher, and she educated me about the benefits in having permanent makeup. I had preconceived ideas about this and they weren’t too positive! However, she looked so incredible and the effect was so subtle that I decided to keep an open mind. So off I went albeit a little apprehensively to try this out. Now bearing in mind when you tattoo there is no room for error, so I am probably potentially the worst patient you could imagine.

I was astounded at the quality of work they achieve. They cover scars and balding spots. And they also have this strange procedure called needling, where they flatten and diminish scars, then match the color of your skin tone. The results were amazing. Previously, I had been under the impression that makeup that was tattooed on was something similar to Coco the Clown – but no, this was something different.

Jessica is a perfect example of the absolute natural image that tattooing can create. Her mouth is so lightly defined you could not even tell – just a natural rose color. That youthful hue unfortunately diminishes as we get older, but can be replaced with a slight definition. I have to say it looks incredibly natural – that will be my first venture.

I am not brave enough to go the whole hog, but the eyebrow and lips were the most impressive. I’m always a huge advocate of keeping it real, but when I wake up with my face closely resembling a corpse, I think a light color on the lips, faint eyeliner and maybe some brows would be a fantastic idea. They are on Bedford Drive. Call to make an appointment at Athena: (310) 729-7285.

When people visit here it is often in search of the fountain of youth. We have the very greatest surgeons and I feel strongly my partner and I offer the very best when it comes to skin care. Dr. Simon Ourian and I have created the ultimate skin regime. Our creams I urge you to try. We have three essential products that restore the skin to its optimal health, and he is absolutely the top dog at all the non invasive techniques. So coupled with our creams, you should really be able to achieve the ultimate complexion. We are located on Camden Drive at Epicene.

I will continue to search Beverly Hills for the finest that it has to offer…now where’s that glass of rosé?
