The New York Palace Hotel, one of the Dorchester Collections, exudes luxury at every glance. The entire lobby has an undeniable shimmer as if it is dipped in gold. Guests ranging from business travelers, families, foreigners and locals all have one thing in common – they want New York City’s best.

The hotel’s suites are like one’s own piedà-terre complete with two large walk-in closets and a sparkling marble bathroom the size of most hotel rooms in NYC. The large living area features a comfortable sofa and oversized chair in addition to a beautiful desk along a windowed wall that overlooks St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The fluffy bed at the far end of the suite can only
be described as a cloud-like. Filled with overstuffed pillows, airy comforters and crisp, white sheets, it tempts guests to slumber in the city that never sleeps.

Palace Hotel’s executive lounge houses small den areas with lounging sofas and big screen televisions – the perfect place to relax with a snack, and a cocktail. The space feels like an extension of a guest room, perfect for both relaxing and working.

Enter GILT, the hotel’s two-Michelin star fine restaurant, through a modern museum style setting that doubles as GILT’s bar. The fiberglass sculpture that covers the large, oval bar seems comfortably out of place in the lavish room. The dining area is marvelous, combining original beauty with modern design, and the cuisine at GILT is spectacular, each dish simply complex thanks to Executive Chef Justin Bogle. Guests need not exit the hotel to get their NYC shopping and entertainment fix – Bloomingdales, Dylan’s Candy Bar, Grand Central Station and many other attractions are all accessible from inside the Palace Hotel.
